Angels First Round Pick
With the 10th pick in the 2020 MLB draft the Angels selected the 20 year old left-handed pitcher Reid Detmers out of Louisville. Detmers finished his sophomore year at Louisville with a 13-4 record, 2.78 ERA, and 167 strikeouts in just over 113 innings (baseball-reference.com). Before the abrupt end to his junior year Detmers was 3-0 with an ERA of 1.23, and 48 strikeouts in 22 innings (baseball-reference.com). The Angels finished the 2019 season with a team ERA of 5.12 which ranked 25th in the league (mlb.com/stats), hopefully Detmers can be a part of their improvement process.

Dodgers First Round Pick
With the 29th pick in the 2020 MLB draft the Dodgers selected the 21 year old right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller, also out of Louisville. Miller finished his sophomore year at Louisville with 20 appearances (12 starts), a 7-1 record with a 3.83 ERA, and 86 strikeouts in 80 innings (baseball-reference.com). Before his junior season came to a halt Miller was 2-0 with an ERA of 2.31, and 34 strikeouts in just over 23 innings pitched (baseball-reference.com). The Dodgers finished last season with a league best 3.37 team ERA, and have finished in the top 5 of this category for 5 straight seasons (mlb.com/stats). They look to keep up their dominance on the mound in the future with this pick.
